How this started

My dad called and asked if I could build him a website. We did the whole thing over the phone, an evening at a time. He'd describe what he wanted, I'd build it, and he'd refresh the page and tell me what he saw. It worked. He still uses it.

Meanwhile I was losing a quieter fight at my day job. Every software problem ended the same way: you'll want to talk to our partner. Every partner arrived with a contract, a monthly fee, and one more login to remember. We weren't big enough to buy our way out. And the manual work in the gaps, the copying, the re-typing, the three screens to answer one question, made me want to put the laptop through a wall.

So I stopped asking and started building. One small tool at a time. The copying stopped. The double-checking stopped. Hours came back, and they stayed back.

That's what Etowah Digital is: the tools I wish I'd had, and the partner I wish I'd had.
